1 WBS Renumbering Robert Perrine 5 July 2004 Carry the WBS numbering scheme across the document set to improve consistency and quality. Robert Perrine 5 July 2004 Success, but it took much longer than expected. 5 hours were lost from the project schedule. This is a substantial portion of the weekly time budgeted for this resource.
2 Tool re-evaluation Robert Perrine 6 July 2004 Continual formatting issues with the MightySpecial Word processor. Robert Perrine 6 July 2004 Rolled back This was an educational experience. I now realize that the MightySpecial Word processor does have some advantages.
3 Conversion to Adobe In- Design Robert Perrine 11 July 2004 MS Word continues to crash when the formatting gets complex. Adobe InDesign has been stable during testing. Robert Perrine 11 July 2004 This change was successful. The project is now 8-days behind schedule. The primary cause for that delay is the unstable behavior of MS Word. Also, purchasing Adobe InDesign is an unplanned $1,000 expense.

Note that as of Fall 2007 I am returning to Microsoft products and will eliminate all use of Adobe products on this and future projects. That software has proven unreliable since I upgraded to Vista.
