Merry Christmas from both of us.
This is the first in what we hope will be a long series of Christmas letters from Robert Perrine and Marlene Weldon. Marlene and Robert got engaged a few months ago and plan to marry in 2009.

This has been a year of change. Robert was very involved with his church as a Deacon, member of two choirs and member of two committees. Robert was also involved in two project management associations and was teaching classes. All of those activities have been set aside for now.

Marlene had set a goal to begin several changes in her life on January 1 2008 and promptly found those changes coming at her quite rapidly. One of the most unexpected of those changes was meeting Robert as she was walking east and he was walking west along the Pacific Coast Highway. Life for the two of us has never been the same since that first conversation.

Marlene shares Robert’s love for books – but prefers to let Robert read them to her. Robert shares Marlene’s love for family – but prefers to let her make most of the phone calls. Other interests that occupy our time include walking to the beach, listening to music and going to Bible classes. Perhaps our favorite activity, however, is meal time. Robert does most of the cooking when we are in Seal Beach and Marlene does most of the cooking when we are in Rancho Dominguez. But we share the kitchen and work well as a team. Our family and friends enjoy the results. Robert is having fun trying new recipes and Marlene loves eating.

We look forward to 2009. We have begun taking classes together. Robert wants to be continually learning and Marlene is preparing now to switch careers. It will take some time, but Marlene plans to be a drug and alcohol counselor. Most importantly, however, we both want to be attentive to the choices that God is calling us to make.

We would love to hear from you. You can write at Robert@RobertPerrine.biz

God has blessed us this year. We pray that you are blessed as well.

Merry Christmas.
