Robert Perrine

I know what you are thinking. I only write to you at Christmas time. So either I am really late or way too early. Well you know the stores keep putting up their Christmas displays earlier and earlier every year. So… But that is not the case with this letter. My explanation is much simpler. The apartment complex I live in is being remodeled. One by one they are going through every apartment, gutting it out, remodeling it and then renting it out to someone else. Sometime in the next couple months it will be my turn. My options will be to either move to another apartment complex or to another apartment within this complex. So, I decided to get a mail box and start forwarding all my mail now.

But I need to get all my mail moved over to my mail box. So please update your address book. My new mailing address is:
<Street Address>, Irvine, CA 92606.

That way, when they come knocking on my door one of these days I will already have all of my mail moved over to a new address. See I am planning ahead.

And since I am writing to you anyway, I might as well give you an update on what else is happening. I am still working as a consultant. Some weeks I have too much work. Some weeks I have no work at all. And, like Goldilocks said, some weeks are just right. Most of my work right now is at Honda helping as a project manager on some very small projects to upgrade their data processing capabilities. My boss tells me he expects to send me back to Florida again sometime soon, but I think they are waiting for the summer heat to set in first.

In the meantime I just finished chapter eight in my book. I had only planned on nine chapters so I would be just about finished, but now it looks like I will need one more chapter. Even so, the end is in sight. And as long as I keep getting just enough work to pay my bills and not so much work that I cannot spend time on my book, then I will finish in a couple more months.

Otherwise, I am doing well. Spring is here and everything is going well. Our choir just performed portions of Handel’s Messiah along with two other choirs and a professional orchestra. It was beautiful. I am still running two or three times a week and I plan to start bicycling again sometime soon. I am still traveling some, but I have been able to arrange most of my travels to be back in town for church on Sunday. Sometimes I work from home which is the best commute of all. Otherwise my commute to Honda is something between sixty and ninety-minutes each way. But when I have that commute I listen to the news, music, a rehearsal CD or maybe an audio book. So those drives are not too bad – just part of life in Southern California.
I hope you are doing well. And if things are not going as well as you would like, then please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. And I hope you have a wonderful Easter.
