Portfolio Management Standard Exposure Draft RECOMMENDATION
(Please Use a Separate Form
for Each Recommendation) Submitter Name: [1] Page number and Section or Subsection
Number (as it appears in the
Exposure Draft): Overview with a specific quote from page 19 in the PDF. [2] Original Text (please copy and paste,
type or attach a copy of the original text here): “Traditionally, this is at the annual budgeting
time, although some organizations have refresh cycles that are more frequent.” [3] Recommended Text (modify the original text to satisfy your
concern here): I
do not recommend a change in this version, but wish to provide a recommended
objective for the next release. Perhaps this sentence could then be updated to
be more specific. Wording might then be something like: “Best
practice is to schedule an aligning cycle at least annually if not quarterly.
Feedback from the Monitoring and Controlling processes should be used to
trigger earlier aligning cycles when there is an impacting change in strategy
or in the portfolio management process.” [4] Provide a detailed
justification/reason for requested change: In my opinion,
this document is very thorough and well thought through. I my reading of it,
however, it sounds to me more like a survey of the current industry than a
guideline for “best practices”. I believe the industry is maturing and can use
more specific guidance. Please
